Your narrator, the Leader
The Leader attended the Mid-Atlantic Nostalgia Con on 18 and 19 September 2014 in Hunt Valley, Maryland. This is his favorite show of the year due to the interesting old popular culture artifacts on display and the laid back relaxed ambience of the show. The Leader was glad to see his friends and associates from previous years: James Turiello, Chuck Rogers, Rick Payne, Robert Lentz. The Leader especially enjoyed seeing again his favorite comic book dealer Gene Carpenter and his favorite movie poster dealer Art Harvey.

David Crispino
The Leader is first and foremost a Silver Age Marvel comic book collector. He always notices whenever someone at a show has that type of material on display. Here's David Crispino of Collectors Corner in Maryland with several large posters made from 1960s Marvel comic book covers. Way cool!
Captain Chuck's Comics
Here's one of the folks from Captain Chuck's Comics of Maryland with a rare early 1970s 33rpm record featuring DC comic book characters. Asking price: $75.
Rick Payne
Rick Payne with a hand colored print of Flash Gordon by legendary comic book artist Al Williamson.
The Lone Ranger
I really like this image of a smiling Clayton Moore as the Lone Ranger. It seems to me that a Clayton Moore autograph should be worth more than the sticker price of $45.
Ron Adams
Ron Adams is one of the promoters of the Monster Bash collector show in Pittsburg. I last saw him at the Williamsburg Film Festival in March 2014 where he was set up as a dealer there for the first time. I hope to make it to Monster Bash one of these days. When I was a kid I saw the 1961 British made movie Gorgo in the theater. I also collected all the Charlton Comic book issues with art by Steve Ditko and recently bought a DVD of the movie when it was released on Blu-Ray.
Chuck Rogers
I first met comic book and movie poster dealer Chuck Rogers at the Williamsburg Film Festival a few years ago. This is his second year set up as a dealer at the Mid-Atlantic Nostalgia Con. I like this Steve McQueen movie The Cincinnati Kid but Chuck's copy has the usual folding creases. I only buy uncreased or "rolled" movie posters.
The Time Tunnel
This large framed poster of the stars of the 1960s TV science fiction series The Time Tunnel caught my eye. At last year's Mid-Atlantic Nostalgia Con James Darren and Robert Colbert were guests and I got them to sign the book The Time Tunnel written by the show's promoter, Martin Grams, Jr. Marty told me a few weeks ago when I saw him at the Baltimore Comic Con that because Darren and Colbert were guests at his 2013 show when his Time Tunnel book had just been released that he sold over 200 copies at that show.
Lee Meredith
Lee Meredith was a buxom blonde best known for her movie roles in the 1960s movies The Producers and The Sunshine Boys. She also posed for Playboy magazine. The Leader considers it his duty to document any displays of over developed mammary glands. So, when Ms Meredith was pre-occupied with a customer, the Leader quickly and surreptitiously snapped this photo of her.
Gene Carpenter
As always, the Leader was pleased to see his old friend and favorite comic book dealer Gene Carpenter who always attends this show. Here's Gene with the comic book adaptations of two of my favorite science fiction movies by producer George Pal: When World's Collide and The Time Machine. I'll next see Gene at the Virginia Comic Con in Richmond, Virginia in November 2014.
Glenn Manjorin & Robert J. Lentz
Glenn and Robert help out the Leader's favorite movie poster dealer Art Harvey when Art's on the road. Glenn didn't make it to the first day of the show on Thursday. Robert is wearing another cool shirt, this one features James Bond. I wasn't going to be around tomorrow on Saturday to see what he wears then. This was the last photo I took at this year's show. It was about 1:30 in the afternoon and I had to hurriedly leave to try to beat the Friday afternoon rush hour traffic in Baltimore and Washington D.C. to drive home to Virginia Beach. Next year I plan to skip the first day on Thursday and spend Friday and Saturday at the show so I can drive home on a peaceful late Saturday night.
