To help offset the enormous expenses of producing the book Ernie marketed several of the pages as collectible press proofs. What Ernie thought was the more popular comic titles had 60 or 80 copies of each page which isn't very many compared to the thousands of comic collectors who might want one. Titles he thought less popular only had 10 or 20 copies made. Lots of opportunity for financial speculation here. The page for the popular pre-Marvel titles Amazing Adventures and Amazing Fantasy only has 20 copies. |

Ernie also offered a calendar with comic book covers from his book. I think the 1991 edition was the only one ever published. |

The leading comic collecting trade journal The Comic Buyer's Guide (CBG) announced the completion of Ernie's book to fandom in 1990 in a front page story. |
