Your narrator, the Leader
The Leader attended the Williamsburg Nostalgia Fest 9 - 11 November 2022. He enjoyed seeing his dealer friends C.P. Lockhart, Sam Austill, Leon Vincent, Bubba Williams and Gene Carpenter who always attend this show. This is the first show under the new management of Martin Grams and Gene Carpenter and it was Marty's reputation as an energetic promoter of his own show the Mid-Atlantic Nostalgia Con that brought in some dealers from that show who don't normally attend this show: Art Harvey, Pete Santili, Frank Brevard and Brendan Faulkner. With the new management the exact time and location of future shows isn't resolved yet and the Leader will wait for further developments with interest.

Dealer Setup Day Wednesday 9 November 2022
Gary "Bubba" Williams
Bubba Williams aka the Marshal of Williamsburg always attends this show. Bubba is very talented at making hand crafted gun belts, knives, Colt pistol replicas and also articles pertaining to movies and TV shows. His latest masterpiece is this life size replica of Boba Fett from the Star Wars movies. Bubba told me he had so much time invested in making this that he wasn't ready to sell it yet.
Frank Brevard, Gene Carpenter
I first spoke with veteran popular culture dealer Frank Brevard at the Mid-Atlantic Nostalgia Con last September. At right is the Leader's favorite comic book dealer Gene Carpenter looking over some of Frank's many movie and TV tie-in paperback books. Let's take a closer look at them in the next photo.
Frank Brevard
The paperback book on top of the stack of tie-in books is Banacek derived from the NBC TV series of the same name that ran from 1972 - 1974. The series starred movie star George Peppard. George did better with his next TV series The A-Team which ran 1983 - 1987.
Bob Lentz
Bob Lentz is a noted movie expert who has written books on Lee Marvin, Gloria Graham and also movies about the Korean War. In addition to helping out movie poster dealer Art Harvey Bob is also a member of the Zane Grey's West Society. Here's Bob arranging the Zane Grey table before Art Harvey arrived at the show.

In the far background is the Leader's traveling companion to the quarterly Virginia Comic Con in Richmond, Jim Frost. Jim's losing no time in perusing Gene Carpenter's comic book boxes in search of fresh inventory.
Jim Frost, Gene Carpenter
Aside from the Virginia Comic Con this is the only show that Jim gets to meet with his long time trading companion Gene Carpenter. Jim lives in Williamsburg so it's easy for him to see Gene at this show. Jim takes the comics he gets in trade from Gene and sells them on the Comic Guaranty Certification (GGC) chatboards.

At right is one of Gene's "Atomic Age" comics Untamed Love #3, 1950 with a Cleo Moore photo cover. Cleo was a B movie actress with 25 movie acting credits 1948 - 1957.
Art Harvey, Mitchell Harvey, Bob Lentz
The Leader's favorite movie poster dealer Art Harvey arrived about 3 p.m. after a eight hour drive from northern New Jersey. But there is no rest for the weary. After the long drive Art and his crew had about three hours of work setting up Art's eight tables with Art's movie memorabilia.
Mitchell Harvey
Art's son Mitchell arranging the tables. Art had lots of original series Star Trek photos but none of them had the information "snipes" attached to the photos so I couldn't buy any of them. To avoid buying modern reprints, I only buy TV photos with the snipes so I know it is an original photo sent by the TV networks to the local TV stations.

Sam Austill, C.P. Lockhart
Sam Austill of Calhoun, Kentucky and C.P. Lockhart of Roanoke, Virginia always setup at this show and I never fail to take their picture. The camera just loves their weatherbeaten cowboy faces.
