Main Dealers' Room

Daniel Strebin I first met movie photo dealer Daniel Strebin at this show two years ago. Here's Daniel presiding over his vast empire of rare movie and TV photos. At left are movie programs for Doctor Zhivago, 1965 and Cleopatra, 1963. At far right is dealer Joe Burtis.	Daniel Strebin Daniel is holding a publicity photo of Jane Russell from her first movie The Outlaw, 1943 produced by Howard Hughes. At left is a photo of Alfred Hitchcock on the set of The Man Who Knew Too Much, 1955. At right is a photo of Cecil B. Otto Ortolani Otto always has one of the largest collections of movie publicity photos at this show. Here's Otto with a selection of "amorous cowboys" from Western movies. Top row from left to right: Westward The Women, 1951 with Robert Taylor showing Denise Darcel how to shoot a rifle. This is a really excellent movie I have on Blu-ray and watch a few times a year. A very young Noah Beery, Jr. hugging a woman while an exasperated friend looks on. The Redhead And The Cowboy, 1951 with Glenn Ford making time with Rhonda Fleming. Barry Sullivan kissing a woman. Bottom row left to right: Apache Drums, 1951 with Stephen McNally and Coleen Gray. Steve McNally didn't get many women in movies as he usually played the bad guy. Badlands Of Dakota, 1941 with Richard Dix making out with Ann Rutherford while Broderick Crawford looks on. Crawford also didn't usually get the girl. He was too ugly and always played the bad guy. Randolph Scott hugging a woman. In real life Randy Scott had little interest in women but he was a good enough actor to pretend he did. Manny Pacheco I first me Manny Pacheco at last year's show. Manny has a series of softcover books and a blog named Forgotten Hollywood with articles about the lesser known stories from the Golden Age Of Hollywood. Here's Manny with an advertising flyer for his latest book Beware Of The Blog.

Noel Deverereux, Peter Graham Noel from Ireland and Peter from Great Britain were two dealers I had never met before. They were helping out dealer Morris Everett and are posing here with some of Morris's lobby card inventory. Peter told me he has a large collection of behind-the-scenes photo taken by a single photographer granted access to the set of The Fall Of The Roman Empire, 1964. I intend to pursue buying some of these. Peter is also a big John Wayne fan. He liked my John Wayne dye sublimated shirt and offered me $100 for it. It's the only one I have so I couldn't sell it to him.

Bottom left is a poster for the anthology style suspense movie Flesh And Fantasy, 1943. Bottom right is a window card poster for West Of Shanghai, 1937 starring Boris Karloff. I later bought from Dennis a rare promotional magazine from 1965 Universal City Studio Story I had never seen before. Also a movie program for Cleopatra, 1963. I already have two of these squirreled away but having another one doesn't hurt. Both are shown here.	Richard Halegua Veteran movie poster and photo dealer Richard Halegua from Las Vegas. I've known Richard since the 1980s when I sometimes saw him at the San Diego Comic Con in his former incarnation as a comic book dealer.	Richard Halegua Richard with two rare "standee" displays for Cleopatra and The Agony And The Ecstasy. These would have been mounted on a counter somewhere in a movie theater. I was intrigued by these but I have no place in my condo to display them.

Lewis Forro Late Saturday night Your Humble Narrator wearing his Ray Bradbury shirt took a few photos in the 16mm film projection room and was photographed doing so by the show's promoter Samantha Glasser.
